INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE FOUNDATION
On our Site, the Foundation collects information about users during their registration for our subscription lists; grant applications; their participation in certain activities on our websites, including polls, and through the use of cookies. When users request pages from our server, our Web server automatically collects some information about the users, including their IP addresses. These IP addresses are used by computers to send the requested pages to users.
SUBSCRIPTION LIST E-MAIL AND/OR NEWSLETTER
If a user wishes to subscribe to our mailing list and/or newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.
SURVEYS
From time-to-time our site may request information from users via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
USE OF INFORMATION
The Foundation will not reveal any personal information that users provide to us to any third party. The Foundation uses visitors’ IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. We also use it to gather broad demographic information about our users in general. This information does not contain anything that can identify users personally. We may combine demographic information supplied by a subscriber at registration with site usage data to provide profiles, in aggregate form, about our users and their preferences in the content of the site and advertising.
Using e-mail addresses provided at registration or otherwise, the Foundation periodically sends out e-mail to our subscribers about activities and programs of the Foundation,and our partners. Third parties will not contact our subscribers through the use of our e-mail lists except through message from our partners within the e-mail themselves, or unless users ask to be placed on a list to receive e-mail from our partners on subjects of interest. Upon request, the Foundation will remove users (and their information) from our database or permit them to “opt-out” of any further e-mail or contact.
POLICIES FOR INDIVIDUALS UNDER 13
This web site is not directed to children. Although the Foundation does not specifically seek to obtain any information from children, there are certain areas of our websites that children may visit. The Foundation does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13. If we find that we have inadvertently collected information from individuals under 13 years of age without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information from our database.
GENERAL
The Foundation is not responsible for the content or the privacy polices of websites to which it may provide links.
The Foundation uses reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to us secure and to disclose such information only to responsible third parties after permission from the user.
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
